Based in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, at Read Right Speech Pathology, we’re driven by the belief that every child has the right to learn to read, write, spell and communicate with confidence.
We are passionate about collaborating with and empowering families and educators to support children and adolescents to develop their speech, language, literacy skills and overall communication and self-advocacy skills in motivating and engaging ways through evidence-informed approaches not just for school but for life.
Who We Are
Kristina Tachtsis
BA (Linguistics and Applied Linguistics), Melb; MSpeechPath, Melb; CPSP
Kristina is a certified, practicing speech pathologist who holds a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology completed in 2017.
Kristina has experience working in private practice and schools to provide speech, language and literacy assessment, intervention and consultative services. She works collaboratively with other professionals, having worked with children and young people with a range of neurodevelopmental disorders and contributed to the diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders and ADHD. Kristina finds it very rewarding to support caregivers in advocating for their children and empowering them to promote their children’s development.
If she wasn’t a speech pathologist, Kristina would definitely have become a teacher. Thus, it is no wonder why she is passionate about partnering with schools to design and deliver professional learning and enjoys supporting schools on school improvement journeys through coaching and consultation on implementing evidence-based teaching strategies to optimize the language and literacy outcomes of all students.
Kristina is dedicated to continuous learning and professional development having completed a course in Developmental Psychiatry and professional learning in trauma-informed practice. Kristina is also trained in The Lidcombe Program for early childhood stuttering and has completed extensive professional learning in literacy including:
Sounds Write
The Science of Language and Reading – Introduction (La Trobe University Short Course)
Introduction to the Science of Writing Online Series (SPELD Victoria)
When Kristina is not working, she enjoys walking, strength training, trying out new places to eat with family or friends, reading, playing word games or Sudoku.
